Christopher Starts Kindergarten

Since day 1 of summer, Chris has been counting the days down until he started Kindergarten. His school is on the way to church so he was reminded weekly of his upcoming experience at his "big boy school". Abuela left the day before school started and Chris literally cried for an hour after she left; so it was good that we had something to look forward to the next day.
He couldn't really comprehend why he was having to go to bed before the sun had set completely, or why he was waking up before the sun had even come up, but he sure popped out of bed and got his clothes on faster than any other day before.
We arrived into a chaos of parents and teachers. Chris followed in his car to see him off and then jet to work. So I was only able to take a couple of pictures outside before I was escorted into the building.
I know some people hate the whole school uniform thing, but I personally LOVE seeing Chris all dressed up like that. He looks like such a little man in his polo shirts and khakis. SO CUTE!

Chris wanted to make sure I took a picture of his "awesome" Transformer backpack. He thought it was so cool that he could just attach his lunch box to the outside instead of having to carry it in his hand. "This way, I can do more things because I don't have to carry the lunch box!"

I was eager to hear all about his first day of school. The first words out of his mouth, "It was soooo long, Mom! I am so sweaty from playing outside. It was just so long. My other school wasn't that long. My teacher has us doing so many things! It's just so long!" I was so disappointed for him. But I assured him that he was going to learn so many new things, meet so many new friends, and have so much fun. Needless to say, the pep in his step was no longer there the next morning.
I picked him up today, hoping for a better experience. "How was school today, sweetie?" "I had a terrible day, Mom!"
"Why? What happened?" I said.
"This boy started tickling me and I screamed and ran into someone. It was an accident, but my teacher didn't listen to me. She sent me to the back of the line. I HATE the back of the line! It wasn't my fault. He tickeled me. I didn't mean to get in trouble!"
"I believe you babe. It's okay", trying to reassure him that it is not the end of the world.
"No, it's not okay, I GOT INTO TROUBLE! THAT'S NOT OKAY!" he snapped back.
hmmmm, okay so now what?
Let's just hope this isn't a preview of how the rest of Kindergarten is going to be!

Aww.. I remember those kinder days. I hope he has a wonderful school year. I loved how much they do little arts and crafts for their mommy's. I miss that. Date what you keep and put what grade their in. It's fun to look back and see it.

His days will be better. He will have his bad days to. Just tell him after all the chaos of school and things get to be routine. She will know what a good little boy he is with time and his actions.

I can't believe our boys started Kindergarten! Crazy how fast these five years have gone by. So fun though to have the three of yours and the last three of mine all the same ages and close milestones. Its nice to have others go through what we go through. LOL How is the baby feeling? Love your bow holder too. I have been wondering what to do myself for ours. Hope you are getting more sleep and baby is feeling better. Miss you!
