TA-DA!!! Our new home!
Well, it's been a loooong two weeks! Chris had to work all week so I packed what I could during the day and made little trips with what I could to the new house. We stayed up late to do things that couldn't be done with the kiddos around. We had originally planned to have the Elders Quorum help us get it all out on the weekend, and the Bishopric were kind enough to come on Wednesday to help begin the process, but by Friday, Chris and I were just too exhausted to do anything else by ourselves. It had been 4 days and we just couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. So on Thursday we decided to hire some movers, just to move the heavy furniture. (Besides our living room area, all of our heavy furniture were up 15 steep stairs and we have ALOT of heavy furniture!) Thank goodness we decided to go that route. It took the professionals 5 hours to load and unload everything. And that's because they are PROS!!! I can't imagine how crazy it would have been if we would have let the EQ do it all! I felt so bad for those guys. It is such back breaking work and to do it all day, everyday....that's some intense labor! By Friday evening the furniture was all in, but we weren't done yet! Saturday morning we still had to go back to the old house and finish up. It still took us 2 hours to clear out! We spent the rest of the afternoon unpacking and rearranging. On Sunday we were exhausted and had really thought about not attending church, but we knew we had a lot to be grateful for this past week. We came home and miraculously, both kids went down for a nap, so we were actually able to nap as well. It was much needed for us all and we woke up ready to face the week!
Now as every woman knows, a home does not feel like a home until you have put your touch on it! So you could only imagine how stressed I have been trying to get things out of the boxes, curtains up, and pictures on the wall. With Chris' help, we have gotten alot done and I can finally breath a bit easier.
Mom and Noemi are coming to visit next weekend so I have to be done by then. I look forward to Mom seeing the new place. She's gonna love it. Now if I can just finish her room before she gets here...that's a whole obstacle in itself! I'll be posting pictures soon...once we are all done and settled!
