The Dollar Store saves the Day!

Going to Wal-Mart is something that needs to be done at least 2-3x a week. I try so hard to plan my meals in advance, making a list of all the groceries needed so I can get it done all in one trip. But it never fails, something is forgotten, or Mia runs out of her Whole Milk, etc. So on Wednesday, I took "the list" and knew it was going to be an adventure. MiaLuz was acting up before we even left the house. I had promised Chris a little toy as long as he behaved and for helping me so much this past week. (He's been trying soooo hard to be a good boy, sharing, caring for Mia, not crying when he doesn't get his way, etc)

After a loooong 30 minutes of me racing through the store while Mia was yelling and freaking out, we finally get to the TOYS aisle. He takes forever to pick a toy cuz he always goes for the most expensive things. But we finally agree on one and off we go to check-out.

I am growing more and more anxious to get out of there asap when the check-out lady looks and me and says, "You are not gonna like what I'm about to tell ya!" The toy that Chris picked out had been recalled and she was not allowed to sell it to me. WHAT!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!? So just as Chris was about to start into "whine" mode I assured him that as soon as we left WM that we would stop by The Dollar Store on the way home and get him 2 gifts instead of 1! (After all, they are only a dollar; much better than the WM price by far!) So his frown quickly turned upside down and he was excited to go.

I don't know why I never thought of getting the toys there before. The kids love those nick knack toys just as much as the expensive toys...I guess I just really never wanted to make the extra stop home. But from now on, that is the place I will go! Thank you Dollar Store! You made my life so much easier that day. So here's the pics of the TOYS!

The first was a lil' pirate set. He has been into This Pirate episode that comes on The Backyardigans...he watches it several times a day. (He likes the music and dance on that one!) So the minute he saw this he wanted it.

Then it was the policeman uniform...with the pirate sword of course! lol
BTW, the crazy faces he is making....I tell him to smile to the camera and he says, "ERRRR". He says pirates don't smile to the camera, they "ERRRR" lol

MiaLuz is a true lil' girl...LOOOVES baby dolls, caring for them and feeding them their bottle. She already owns 5 but started throwing an absolute fit when I tried to take these from her at the store. They were 50 cents each so I figure I'd get them instead of dealing with the embarrassment of the tantrum. (I can only handle so much in one day!)
All the employees were laughing at her cuz she wouldn't even let them go long enough for them to scan them. Just kept saying, "Mine, Mine babies!"

But the second Chris walked away from his new gadgets she quickly ran over, got them and brought them to me to put on her... I had to snap a shot...she just looked too cute. Thank goodness Chris has been trying really hard to share with her. He didn't mind letting her have some fun, just for a little while of course!

Thank goodness for Dollar Stores! They are a blessing for all mothers, grandmothers, etc.!
