Welcome Baby Adan!

Okay, so here's the story.
We arrive at the hospital at 6:00am. I had already been contracting a bit through the night so I knew it wouldn't be long before I could get my epidural. Well, they hadn't even began the Potosin to induce before my contractions were at the #7 on the pain scale. They checked me and I was ready early on to get the epidural but because of an emergency with another patient it took them a while to get to me. I waited about an hour and within that time my contractions hit their peak. I had NEVER felt them that hard before because I always had the epi early on. I seriously didn't know how to handle them. I remember one of the nurses coming in during one and trying to comfort me...she said,"just breathe honey, it's all in your head. Just breathe." WHAT?!?! are you kidding me? I wanted to slap her, and probably would have if I could move any to reach her, but I was literally paralyzed with pain. When she finally left Chris came to me and said, "I know you wanted to slap her. I could just here what you were thinking when she said that!" I thought that was funny. He knows me so well...
Once they came in to give it to me they realized their medicine wasn't even on the cart...Grrrr....So there I go, waiting another 20 minutes. By this time I pretty much knew I was ready to push, but they never checked me until after they gave me the epi. I received it but it was too late. The contractions came back down to a #7 but into the delivery I could still feel everything. The doctor even said, "Hmmmm, you are flinching, you can still feel this!" Yeah, why did I even get the epi!?! Anyhoo, 2 pushes and he was out...Ta Da! Our little one joined us at 11:08 am. He was 7 lbs. 20" long.
We had a HUGE room, and they said it was one of the smaller ones!
There was even a waiting room attached, only divided by a curtain, for family and visitors that wanted to be apart of the delivery...I thought that was so cool.
This was obviously before my contractions got serious.
This was the picture that you would see once my contractions reached the #10 on the pain scale. All I could do was push my hands into my head...And while this was going on....

This was the picture you would see of Chris....reading a book,

...and jamming out with his ZUNE....yeah! you can imagine what I was thinking! But I couldn't blame him too much. He was just excited to be apart of this experience!

Literally 20 minutes after receiveing the epidural, I was READY to push. The nurse told me she was going to run for the doctor and told me not to even push a bit cuz he was 'right there'. After she left, Chris looked at me and said, "Do Not Push! DO NOT PUSH because I do not want to have to catch the baby. Do not push!"

And there's the doc. Dr. Hutchinson, WONDERFUL man!
There was 2 emergency c-sections that morning so my nurses kept changing. I didn't mind since they were all so sweet. It was funny to me how I ended up having all 5 with me for the delivery. Talk about support! I loved it.

Welcome to the world...

All cleaned up, finally!

The first picture together.

The first meeting... Chris couldn't have been more excited to see his new brother. MiaLuz, well she didn't know what to think...

Chris wanted to check out the little body. He got a kick out of how tiny his feet were.

I could only handle so much weight on me so Chris took over. Big brother followed immediately. Mia...mmm. not so much.

As Chris was full of hugs and kisses for his new brother...

MiaLuz proceeded to go the opposite way. She sat herself on the chair beside my bed and watched cartoons. After a while, she did come around and played with him a bit. She had her moments, but 90% of her hospital visit was spent sitting with me on the bed.

Bishop Strickland, one of our many sweet and thoughtful visitors!
(Adan's face looks so cute in this picture.)

The hearing test. One of my good friends, Jenn Watts came from another hospital just to conduct the test on baby Adan. Thanks Jenn!

Getting ready to leave the hospital : (

His first picture at home...all snuggled up.

Here's a video of Baby Adan getting his first bath! Poor baby...

Congrats on his safe and healthy arrival! OMGOSH he looks just like Blanca!!!!! Of course, I know babies change as they grow, but this initial phase, he looks like his momma - good thing since she did all the work. :) Cannot wait to meet him!

Congrats to you all. He is beautiful. I'm glad your hubby was there. And I'm sure your mom would of love to have been there. Good job Blanca. I went all natural with my second and don't slap me but I perfered that over the other 2. I hate when they say don't push or think of something else. The pain does not allow you to.
Mia- is to cute on that chair. My second daughter had that look when #3 came. Like what just happened Give me my mom. They will love him. Chris is already the big brother. So happy for your new little Adan.
