I'M 30!!!

This past weekend I finally turned the bit 30!!! I can't believe it...I never thought the day would come when I was no longer "young"...I know that statement will probably offend some of you that are 30+...but you know what I mean. It's like your body says, "Oh, I'm 30...time to slooooow down!" Your metabolism slows down, hence the weight gain! You walk a bit slower, ache a bit more etc...it just doesn't seem fair! But regardless of what we want, life happens....
Besides all the little annoying physical changes...I look back on the past 10 years and I have nothing but gratitude. I have a wonderful family, great husband and beautiful kids. We have been through 2 deployments and the Lord was with us the whole way through, watching over me as well as keeping Chris safe and sane through the whole process. We live in a wonderful place, part of a great Ward and feel blessed to be able to go home every year to see the family that we love and miss so much. There's so much to be thankful for...I look forward to the next 10 years; anxiously waiting to see what's in store for us...
As for the whole birthday bash...I told Chris all I wanted was to get my hair done. I'd been wanting to do something a little different but never got the guts to. I finally did it. I may not look any different to most of ya'll but it is a big change for me. I went back to my natural color and got chunky platinum blond hightlights on just the front of my hair. They straightened it at the salon and I've worn it that way this whole week so I'll be sending the "curly" picture at a later time. Later that evening we had an ice cream cake, my favorite...yum!
