Christmas Holidays!

We were able to go home for 2 weeks this holiday season and we did our best to see everyone we could. We miss home so much and every time we leave we are a bit depressed. Lil' Chris loves his cousins so much. He asks about them daily and he's not quite at the age to understand why we just can't go visit them when we want. We hope that our next assignment will bring us closer to home. Nevertheless, we had a great time with everyone and will cherish the memories.
Here are some pictures of the holiday.

The kids looking out at the airport, waiting to board.

So here's the story. Everyone was sick the week before going home. I took the kids for meds so they would be ok, but Chris never takes care of himself. Needless to say, he was extremely congested on the plane right and his ears were unable to pop. He was in a lot of pain until we landed. I remember the old "funnel" remedy that our grandma's do...it's suppose to pop your ears...so i convinced Chris to let me try...

when i was finished, I put the funnel in a bowl and boom, FLAMES EVERYWHERE! I freaked out and grandma Flores took over...oops!

So Cousin Prissy did the second attempt...It worked this time...what a face. it really didn't hurt Chris loll

Christmas with the Tijerina's:
A "kodak moment"...Noemi doing the dishes and Johnny cooking in the kitchen...Just had to be caught on camera! lol

the family making tamales...this was Angie's first time attempting, good job Mama!

The famous "swing" and Mia just loves it!

playing with Chris' leapster

Christmas morning at Johnny's

Aunt Angie was one of the few people Mia would stay with. There's just something about pregnant woman that kids love....there must be something they know that we don't! Isn't her baby bump cute!?!

Then there was the opening of the presents with the Flores Family.
Chris and Meemaw trying to pass the time before opening the presents.

can you see Chris on the boat fishing? It was so cute seeing him act it out!

The Flores grandchildren...and great-grandchildren!

Anytime lil C was asked what he wanted for XMAS he would say a "compooter" . So of course, Meemaw suprised him with his own...he was so excited!

Meemaw gave MiaLuz a cabbage patch doll. She just kept kissing it, probably thinking to herself that it was about time she got a "girl" toy to play with.

During the holidays we celebrated out 7 year anniversary. We went to dinner and went salsa dancing with our friends. It was a great night.

We stayed at Christy Estates for the night. This was our jacuzzi in the room. Chris made the mistake of letting me be in charge of the water temperature. I made it so hot that we were woozy the first 10 min. We got out and layed on our bed for an hour trying to recuperate, watching the steam exit our bodies. Yup, big mistake there. We were so dehydrated!

Blanca- thanks for sharing your Christmas photos! It was nice seeing everyone. Glad your back home safely. Whenever my ears get plugged, Ben would tell me to do what your husband was doing. I was to chicken. I guess in Equador(on his mission) the do that there. I guess it works!
