4th of July Weekend

This 4th of July will be one to remember. Many milestones were met.
Milestone #1- For months now, anytime we asked Chris to try a new food, do a new thing, he always responded by saying that he will do it when he turns 5. So a week after his birthday, Daddy called him out on it and asked him if he wanted to try a cheeseburger. After a bit of pondering, he said, "Sure, I'll try it!" Right then and there we turned the car around and ordered him one. (you have to jump on it before he changes his mind!) To our amazement, he actually liked it. To add to the excitement, he also tried ketchup for the first time with his fries. I about passed out with excitement! He has yet to eat a whole burger, but at least there is more variety in his diet. =)
Milestone #2- For months I have been attempting to potty train MiaLuz, but it's been difficult with the baby keeping me busy. I finally got fed up with the double diaper duty and told Chris that on the 4 day weekend we were gonna have to suck it up and babysit her until she did it. That Friday morning, I put her in one of lil' Chris shirts and had her bare bottom all day. (Chris did not like that idea. He kept saying she was going to poop on his shirt and would ruin it!) I planned on using this method the whole weekend, but it wasn't necessary. It only took one poopy accident on the kitchen floor, and after the big fuss we all made about how yucky she was for doing that, she never did it again! That was it! By Monday, she was 100% potty trained. Yippee!!!!
Milestone #3- baby Adan is teething, already! He actually has been sucking on his fist for weeks now. The poor thing is barely going to be 4 months and you can already see the teeth trying to come through. Besides that, he has also been cooing and laughing like crazy. It is so adorable. I have video of it, but for some reason our computer isn't letting me upload so please bare with me while I figure it out. ( Meemaw, lol)
So our life has been filled with all sorts of wonderful suprises lately. Just wanted to share the news!
Here are a couple of our favorite pictures of the month.
These Jordans were lil' Chris'. Our friend Beatrice gave them to us and I just love putting him in them! Doesn't he look big!?! You would never have known he had feeding problems and reflux with how chunky he is now!
And this is Daddy's version of "taking care of the baby!" lol too funny

4th of July weekend, on our way to the Pancake Breakfast at church

They asked all the military to dress up for the breakfast so we could honor all who have served and are still serving. I thought that was a nice idea.

Hope your weekend was a great one!

I had to laugh out loud when you said that you were so excited that Lil Chris tried ketchup with his fries! I know kiddos can be picky. I also love your ward's idea to ask the military to dress up for the breakfast! Great idea.

I have heard that the staying home for a few days & no diaper/pants works great for potty training. Way to go Mia!
