Released

This past Sunday Chris was released from his calling as 2nd Counselor of the bishopric. I have my husband back! :)
All jokes aside, it was a bitter sweet day for us. I am looking forward to Chris being home alot more, having a family dinner more than less of the time and to have his help with the kids before, during and after church on Sunday. It has been a struggle for me at times.
But I can honestly say I wouldn't trade this past year for anything. In just one year, I have seen so many changes in my husband, for the better of course! There were many nights Chris would come home and be emotionally exhausted. He would tell me time and time again how blessed we are to have what we have; our family, our love for each other, our home, etc. This calling really humbled him and in turn humbled me.
Being a member all my life, I always noticed how "organized" we were in our church, but I never stopped to think just how difficult it was to keep it all together; all the time, work, and prayer that goes into each and every job in the bishopric and calling in the ward. What these priesthood holders deal with on a day to day basis, I will never truly know or understand, but I do know that I never saw any of them complain or fuss about what needed to be done. "The Lord's work never rests!" says Bishop Strickland.
Of all the wonderful things Bishop Stickland taught Chris, the most important one was to LOVE. I have seen a complete transformation in Chris. He truly has learned to LOVE everyone in our ward. It is so wonderful to see the LOVE that he expresses to every member he comes across. And I know that is something that only Bishop Strickland could have taught him. I have never met a more wonderful man than him. We have truly been blessed to be in this ward and to have gotten to know him. He is a close friend as well as our brother. We will miss him and our Windsor Lake family when we leave.
....boy does it feel good to have my husband back! :0)
