This year she had a Birthday Tea Party. I made the invites and did it at the house. It turned out so cute and she loved it, just as much as I did! lol
We hung sheets on both entrances into the dining room to make it a special place they could enter after they got all dolled up and ready! I made bubblegum cupcakes and hung lights and streamers everywhere. We brought out Chris' tea set that he brought back from his first tour in Iraq, as well as the glass tea set Abuela gave MiaLuz. I knew using glass would be a risk, but what's a tea party without the proper attire!?!
In the living room I had stations set up for the girls. I bought some purses for the girls and allowed them to dress them up with "jewels". Next, was a dress up station filled with clothes, hats, gloves and jewelry.
After they were dressed, they got their make-up and nails done. Once they were all finished, they were ready to go to their tea party! The girls kept asking what was behind the sheets and couldn't wait to go in and see the room.
They lined up and I led them in. They loved the room and quickly sat down. As I went around serving their tea (apple juice) I explained to them the special tea set they were using, where it came from and what the word "fragile" meant. They were so cute, being as careful as they could with it...but what was hilarious to see was the mothers! They were freaking out the entire time and rushed their girls to finish their juice asap so we could put their cup away! I gave them a Capri-sun after the "toast" so we all could breathe a bit easier!
